For some, 2019 came bearing gifts. For some, it was alright and for the likes of me, it came bearing a never ending nightmare. Now I seriously hate the phrase “all good things must come to an end”. What about bad things then?
As you may or may not know, I left my previous job, for a few specific reasons (you can read about it here, read the comments too). It seems… My new job is as shitty as the previous one, shittier, at least I had wonderful colleagues in the previous office. The best part of this new job, is just one guy… All of them are crooked, but this one guy takes the cake.
Enter Shamun! He’s a young guy, probably in his mid 20s. No proven background in marketing, let alone visual arts. Apparently, he’s a lost project from the states. Now works for 40 grand Bangladeshi. I guess that explains a few things, if not all. Regrettably, he’s been hired as a “content manager”. It’s self explanatory, yeah? A guy who manages contents. Did I forget to mention, he likes to role-play? I’ve been hired as the creative director, but it seems, Shamun is also suffering from autism and a sickness where when one’s flaws are pointed out, begins to repeatedly and rapidly say no multiple times. He frequently tries and does my job, in fact, he teaches me my job. Which, I’ve been doing for the last 10 years.
Numerous times, I’ve let him know not to do this. But hey, autism… remember?
The gist of the story is this… The other day, he claimed to know things. Things that a creative person with lots of years of experience knows. Because he reads articles on the web and watches YouTube videos. My mouth may have been at work at the time, but inside, I was completely speechless, even to this day. Where does he bring all this confidence from, I’ve been wondering about it.
What do you think? Comments please. Is this confidence? Or daddy issues? Or pent up aggression?
